Peter Kliem is a prominent figure in Sylt's nightlife and long-time operator of the legendary Club Rotes Kliff in Kampen. His career on the island began by chance as a temporary employee at the Hotel Waltershof, before he made a name for himself as a DJ in Westerland.

The king of Kampen clubs: Kliem started out as a DJ at the Rotes Kliff in 1982 and took over as manager in 1991. Under his leadership, the club developed into a hotspot for celebrities and the high society throughout Germany.

DJ & Entertainer: In addition to his role as a restaurateur, he is known as “Grandmaster PK” and continues to DJ at exclusive events, weddings, and corporate parties on Sylt and in Hamburg. He is considered a passionate “showman” who has influenced generations of guests with his music.

A new era: After more than 40 years at the club and 34 years as owner, Peter Kliem handed over the reins to the young duo Rabea Palenschat and Sepp Brückmann in April 2025. Today, Peter Kliem is still available for hire as an event DJ and remains a fixture in Sylt society.
